Conference Report: Capitalism, Anti-Capitalism and Social Sciences; Works of Immanuel Wallerstein, Paris

On September 11 and 12, 2023, not entirely coincidentally on the anniversary of the coup against Salvador Allende in Chile, in the 60th year of the foundation of the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (MSH) at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, a remarkable international conference took place. It was dedicated to Immanuel Wallerstein, who - in addition to the Fernand Braudel Center (FBC) at Binghamton University, NY - had a second foothold here for decades as a researcher and academic teacher. This linked him to the institution founded by Fernand Braudel in Paris.
