Second Open Call for Session Organizers at the XX ISA World Congress of Sociology in Melbourne 2023. DL: May 31 24:00 GMT

I am pleased to announce that the Confex website is now open for competitive submissions for Session Organizers at the XX ISA World Congress of Sociology in Melbourne, Australia from June 25 to July 1, 2023.

Are you interested in volunteering as a Session Organizer who proposes a session topic, issues a call for papers, and organizes a session? It is a competitive process, but an administratively simple one. The first step is to write a session proposal and submit it to one of the Research Committees, Working Groups, or Thematic Groups within the International Sociological Association.

Research Committee 02 (Economy & Society) will hold at least 22 sessions—we need your best ideas! Each session is 110 minutes and can accommodate 5 papers and time for collective discussion. I am most interested in proposals for research topics that involve an open call for papers that can potentially attract scholars from across the globe. To submit a session proposal, submit your 250-word proposal here: https://isaconf.confex.com/isaconf/wc2023/cfs.cgi then click ‘Research Committees” and then “RC02 Economy and Society.” The hard deadline is May 31, 24:00 GMT.

This deadline is ONLY for colleagues interested in proposing sessions. If you would like to present a paper, you can look forward to reading numerous calls for papers and submitting them in July-September 2022.

If you have any questions about session proposals for RC02, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me (Aaron.Pitluck@IllinoisState.edu). I look forward to reading your proposals on the Confex platform.
