Webinar: UNRISD, Just Transitions In the Global South and North? 14 October 2020
Just Transition as a Worker Movement in Global North and South
Date: Wednesday 14 October 2020
Time: 10.00-11.15 CEST
The fight for a just transition to low-carbon future that ensures the well-being and livelihoods of workers and communities began, under that name, in the North American labour movement. The concept is now used in the international climate policy arena and beyond. This webinar, the second in a series by the Just Transition Research Collaborative (JTRC), explores how the spread of the concept has influenced the role of workers in just transition efforts, considering effects on both formal and informal workers, and looking at differences between the global South and North.
