New Position: UNRISD hiring a Senior Research Coordinator, Bonn, Germany, deadline: 20 October 2019
We are delighted to announce a new UNRISD work programme and presence in Bonn, Germany
Thanks to support from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), UNRISD is embarking on a new work programme that aims to strengthen research-uptake linkages through an integrated approach to knowledge and skills development, where our research feeds into training and capacity building activities and is informed by their needs.
As we scope, design and implement the work programme of this office over the coming months and years, we will use the unique opportunities to engage with the UN sustainability hub in Bonn, and with NGOs, academic and government partners, to accelerate our contribution to evidence-based implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The UNRISD Bonn office will reflect the Institute’s specific focus on the social dimensions of sustainable development, drawing in relevant research from across our programmes and projects.
To lead this work, UNRISD is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Research Coordinator who will also act as Head of Office in Bonn.
Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you believe that the UN and other development partners can make greater use of social development research to strengthen evidence-based SDG implementation? Would you like to elaborate and implement a work programme that joins up research and capacity building on the social dimensions of sustainable development?
The ideal candidate will combine social development research excellence, an eye for identifying strategic opportunities and synergies across organizations and work programmes, and a talent for networking and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will also have excellent skills in communicating research to diverse audiences, particularly in policy communities, and fundraising capacity.
