Call for Papers: Contribute to Work in Progress (WiP) Blog
Dear RC02 Members,
It is our pleasure to announce that RC02 Economy and Society has joined the successful public sociology blog Work in Progress (WiP) http://www.wipsociology.org/about/. Our goal in this collaboration is to make RC02 members’ research accessible to a larger international public, including international journalists, civil society actors and interested publics. The blog circulates through all the usual social media and by an email list.
The blog contributions of RC02 members will be edited by a collective of board members, past and present, including William Carroll, Heidi Gottfried, Nadya Araujo Guimaraes, Michelle Hsieh, Aaron Pitluck, JP Sapinski, and coordinated by Karen Shire.
We hereby open the call for contributions from RC 02 members!
No time? WiP blogs are short (800-1200 words), the style is simple and direct (no more than 3 sentences per paragraph), ideally includes one image, and is all about promoting public sociology.
What form? Most blogs in WiP are based on recent published journal articles, for example, http://www.wipsociology.org/2018/09/15/elite-men-and-inequality-in-the-hedge-fund-industry/
Other categories for contributions are listed on the WiP website.
Why? To gain a broader readership, to improve awareness about RC02 research, to reach interested journalists and civil society actors, and ultimately to improve the impact of sociological research on social and economic change.
Interested? Suggest your topic and expected submission date to any of the members of the editorial collective.
